Resistance Reborn

This book is set between “The Last Jedi” and “The Rise of Skywalker.”

It does–kinda–explain why the plea for help the resistance sent at the end of “Last Jedi” was not answered.

In the book, the remanants of the resistance spread to different planets to round up support and acquire a list of pro-Resistance subversives the First Order has put together. The First Order was on to all those potential helpers (no idea how this happened) and either rounded them up or prevented them from getting the message sent at the end of “Last Jedi.” (I think this is what happened, though it’s still a little murky. At least there’s some explanation for the radio silence.)

This book is a mess. There’s no real character development. The dialogue is bad. The whole thing feels slapped together.
