I Am Not Your Negro

This documentary focuses on writer and activist James Baldwin.

The truly sad thing is that his insights into the racism of the past still apply just as much now. It’s enraging and heartbreaking.

I was struck by Baldwin’s eyes and his cadence. He was so world weary and resigned, yet he pushed and persevered.

The film is a stark reminder that all of the back-patting people have done for the last 50+ years is a cover for the real work that must be done.
