Good Omens, season 1

The plot of this series is a bit convoluted, but that’s okay because this show floats on the chemistry between Michael Sheen and David Tennant.

The story follows Aziraphale (Sheen), an angel, and Crowley (Tennant) a demon, as they manipulate human history and maintain a balance between good and evil. But they also develop an affinity for humans and each other, and when forced to choose between duty and friendship, the friendship wins out.

There’s also stuff involving witches and prophecies and and a demon dog and the rise of the Antichrist. But really, this a show about an endearing friendship that grows over thousands of years. When it focuses on the relationship, it’s great. When it gets distracted by the sweaty plotting, it’s not as great.
