Upload, season 1

This show’s concept is interesting.

In the near future, there’s a way for resource-rich people to upload their consciousness into a simulation. They can live forever in a digital utopia so long as those left behind continue to foot the data bill. This creates some uneasy relationships between the living and the dead since a break-up could lead to a death sentence of sorts. See what I mean? That’s interesting!

The world building and rules of “Upload” are well constructed. The show’s mystery is a little dense, but it might pay off in season two.

That said, I wish the producers had resisted the urge to cast an “arbitrary handsome white guy” in the lead. No offense to Robbie Amell–he does a fine job–but it would have been nice to see someone with a different background in this role.
