This is a brilliant film that’ll be in heavy rotation in my home for years to come.
Much like “Paddington 2,” “The Mitchells vs The Machines” is a wonderful surprise–a beautifully constructed and joyous story that renews your faith in amazing things.
From the animation to the storytelling to the layers upon layers of jokes, this is a remarkable achievement.
It’s also funny as hell. Homicidal Furbies, Siri gone bad, The Perfect Pug, Dog Cop, “Deregulate Tapioca”–there’s so much to take in. I’ve seen this film three times and even when I know the jokes are coming, I still laugh until I wheeze.
