A very dumb movie.
The film’s IMDb listing bills this as “action, comedy, crime.” It’s got action. It’s got crime. But it’s definitely not a comedy.
It tries to be a Tarantino movie, but it fails. It confuses “blood” for “edge.”
It’s got a cast with lots of good actors but it doesn’t use any of them effectively.
Joe Carnahan wrote and directed this thing. I initially confused him with David Ayer because I can’t stand David Ayer’s movies and this really seems like a David Ayer movie. Turns out, I also can’t stand most of Carnahan’s movies either. The only one I’m kind of okay with is “The Grey.” Everything else is an exercise in toxic masculinity.
