Once Upon a Time in Hollywood

I’m not a big fan of Quentin Tarantino. I think the only movie of his I own is “Pulp Fiction.” But I’m not not a fan of his either.

Tarantino’s stuff is always interesting. His direction is always compelling. What he does is unique.

So while I don’t find his movies super entertaining (except for “Pulp Fiction” and the “Kill Bill” films) I’m inclined to check out his work when I can.

“Once Upon a Time in Hollywood” is one of Tarantino’s more approachable movies (relatively speaking). Brad Pitt and Leonardo DiCaprio are both great. I also enjoy Tarantino’s approach to revisionist history (like he did in “Inglorious Basterds”). Reworking history certainly opens up lots of storytelling possibilities and it keeps the audience on their toes.

Would I buy this film? No. Would I watch it again if it was freely available? Sure. It’s a rock-solid watch-it-on-cable kinda movie.
